Paris, France – Over 350 Psion customers, partners and prospects from across the globe are joining the Psion executive team and worldwide staff this week to celebrate the company’s 40-years of leadership and innovation in mobile computing and wireless communications solutions.

Held under the mantra “Our Past is the Way to Our Future”, Psion is hosting two power-packed days at one of the most famous art galleries and museums in the world, the legendary Louvre Museum in Paris. This worldwide convention will showcase how innovation with products, technology and solutions has been a key foundation for the company’s success and expansion. More importantly, it will also showcase how the company is leveraging these foundational elements for success over the next forty years.

In addition to learning how the company’s developments are offering greater returns than ever, guests will also get a first-hand look at the newest innovative product in the Psion portfolio Ikôn, a rugged PDA that is being launched today.

Teklogix was created in 1967 by Rod Coutts together with a small group of outstanding young Canadian engineers. The company grew to specialize in empowering mobile workers with wireless data transmission and real-time data management within the logistics industry.

The Psion Group, founded in 1980 by David Potter, is widely credited with having created the world’s first volume produced PDA with the launch of the Psion Organiser in 1984. Generally recognized as the world’s first practical pocket computer, the Organiser helped evolve Psion into a major technology player.

In September 2000, Teklogix was acquired by the Psion Group to form Psion Inc. Today, 40 years later, Psion has gained worldwide recognition as a true market leader, enabling mobile professionals with solutions that deliver increased efficiency and productivity.

From the outset, the talent, foresight and energy of Coutts and Potter established a corporate culture driven to always design, manufacture, install and support the most relevant and innovative products and solutions for their customers.

Both Coutts and Potter are in attendance at the celebration and participating as key players at the event

According to Jacky Lecuivre, CEO, Psion, this convention provides the company with the opportunity to emphasize its two major credos: Customers First and People Make The Difference. “

“I’m delighted to be celebrating this very important milestone in our history today with our customers, partners and employees. Our focus has always been to deliver innovative solutions to solve customer needs and I believe that this remains a solid platform upon which to embark on the next 40 years.”
