Psion Showcases Ikôn at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain – Psion showcased its newest product, the Ikôn rugged PDA, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this month, where an expert team from Canada and Spain were on hand to introduce the product to international audiences.
This year marked the first year that Psion had a booth at the well-known exhibition. More than 55,000 visitors attended the GSMA’s Mobile World Congress from February 11 – 14, to do business and debate the future of the mobile phone industry, making this year’s event the largest yet.
The three-day conference, which featured more than 230 chief executives and other high-level speakers from across the world, attracted more than 8,000 delegates.
Herb Turzer, Senior Product Manager for Psion, concurs that the Mobile World Congress is one of the world’s premier mobile event. “It presents a great opportunity for Psion to showcase our product to a wider audience. The show has also allowed us to look at various technologies that could possibly complement Ikôn, and therefore add further value to the product.”
Turzer adds Psion was one of the few companies in its market segment, to be present as an exhibitor at the show. “The fact that we’re the first company, within our market segment, to integrate 3G HSDPA technology in a product like Ikôn makes us very proud. Our experience in Barcelona has been very successful and we hope to repeat it again next year.”
