- 3663, a leading food service supplier in the UK serving a customer base of 50,000 organisations including Burger King, KFC, and Nandos wanted to improve operational efficiencies in three logistics depots.
- The company relied on an error prone and time consuming paper and batch driven system to handle 200 million stock transactions and 37 million cases per year across its warehouse operations.
- With the addition of additional customers, this was expected to exceed 50 million cases. To meet the growing needs of its rapidly expanding customer base, 3663 needed a solution that would help it streamline processes to become more efficient.
The Solution:
- 3663 replaced its manual system with a Psion Teklogix’ TekSpeech solution.
- TekSpeech was integrated with 3663’s WMS across its four logistics depots in Banbury, Lichfield, Royton and Heywood UK so that all interactions are done entirely with speech.
- Floor workers receive a prioritised list of jobs from the WMS via Speech commands that guide the wearer through the stages of the warehouse cycle from goods-in, to replenishment, picking and marshalling. The hands and eyes free solution instantly updates the WMS by sending data from the headset to the WMS in real-time.
